She met me in front of my house. She was forcing me to go to the park with her. When we got there, it was pretty empty.
“Alright,” I muttered. “We’re here, now what?”
She smiled and grabbed my hand. I hate when she does that. She sat on the grass and looked up at me, pulling me down. “Sit with me!”
I sighed and sat slowly.
The couple of minutes we were on the ground, she never once let go of my hand. It didn’t bother me after awhile, though.
“Rinko,” I said flatly, “You know that I hate you, so why do you keep bothering me?”
She giggled at me. “I feel we were meant to meet, Takune. I care about you a lot, even if you are a heartless jerk.” She smiled sweetly at me when she said that.
She leaned in close to me, our faces almost touching. I just sat there. Romance doesn’t interest me, really. I realized I should just kiss her, and maybe she’ll leave. I wasn’t sure exactly though, cause I had never been in love before.
I pressed my lips against hers and I could tell her face had become flushed. When I leaned back she stared at me. I figured she was about to kiss me again, and I almost rolled my eyes and pushed her back when she did, but something stopped me, and I let her kiss me. I had a feeling in my stomach that I can’t really describe. Bad, but good at the same time, and I felt my heart move for the first time in my afterlife. I lay down and pulled her with me, continuing to kiss her. This lasted for awhile, but I don’t know for sure, because I was never the type of person to wear a watch.
When I pushed her off, she still was lying on the ground, and she closed her eyes. I sat up and sighed. Stupid girl.
I didn’t pay attention the rest of the time, so I don’t remember what happened. But I will say I didn’t kiss her again. I got home pretty late, and when I did get there, one of my fellow hunters was by the doorway, waiting for me.
“You idiot,” he hissed, “You know better not to become close to a human. God, I just want to kill you right now.”
“Shut up, Haine.”
“Dude, if you don’t kill her, I’ll do it for you. I’d be more then happy to crush her skull.”
This made me furious, I punched him, and he fell to the ground. He spat out blood and glared at me. “If you let this happen, you’ll wish you were never brought back from the dead.”
I walked up to my room and sat down in the closest piece of furniture. I sighed. I wasn’t falling in love, I know I wasn’t! That’s just fricken stupid. What if I really have to do something? Suddenly, my phone buzzed and I saw it was a text from Rinko. Perfect timing.
She had asked if I wanted to sneak out. I just agreed and walked out. I wouldn’t really call it sneaking out, because no one cared.
I followed her directions, and I found out where she had told me to go. It was on the edge of town, by the bell tower. I saw her waiting for me sitting on top a brick wall. Her face lit up when she saw me, and she ran over to me.
“Isn’t it beautiful? Right next to the bell tower! You want to go up?”
I shook my head. “Not yet.”
She smiled. I guess you’re not that much of a jerk after all, if you actually were planning to go!”
I shrugged. “I have to tell you something.”
“Wait! I have something to show you!”
I stopped walking and turned.
She picked up something and pushed it toward me. “It’s a flower. These are really rare flowers, too. Aren’t they pretty?” She took one individual flower and put it in my shirt pocket. “These flowers are just like you, rare and amazing.” She hugged me tightly, and to my surprise, I kind of hugged her back.
“Takune, I love you.”
I nodded. “I know, but I still…”
She blinked softly at me. “What?”
“I love you Rinko.”
I can’t find words to describe how happy she looked.
“But Rinko,” I took out my blade.
Her eyes turned dark. When I walked closer to her, she tripped and fell back.
“Get away!” she screamed.
When I kneeled down by her, I leaned in and kissed her one last time. I heard her start crying, and I turned and whispered in her ear: “Shhhh, it’s OK.” She struggled for each breath she needed. I listened to her cry quietly for a moment, and soon after, the night was filled with silence.
That night, not only did I learn what love is like, I also soaked my body in blood.
Before my life went to hell, I was a pretty normal guy. I had friends and family, there were girls I crushed on, and I felt emotions. When you become a killer, you don’t have all that. It usually happens after you die. You are shown a bright light, and a hand beckons you forward. If you take it, you end up fighting monsters for the rest of your afterlife. The catch? Yeah, you are pretty much a loner and feel nothing at all. I was cursed with this. I know I finally learned how to love, but I promise you, love just isn’t my thing.

I hope you guys liked it!!
